when we look for people who may want to participate, we are not looking for users, we are looking for jammers. at first it may seem like that is the same thing, and it is not that far away! but it is still quite a bit away: we are not looking to advertise a product, we are looking to find people who may want to participate. no resources are being looked for. no money changes hands. no attention is being turned into profit.
as mentioned: it is looking for people to participate. pastagang would not exist if not for some people showing it to wider audiences. pastagang tools cannot become jams if nobody knows they exist. many people need some form of motivation to want to start doing something, and perhaps telling them "hey, we need people" can cause them to want to create. in fact, it is the opposite of advertising to users: we are telling them to take action and create instead of passively consuming!
you also do need to explain some things. one reason nudel died is that many people had no idea what to do with it. it became so big that it became inaccessible to jam within it. having explanations on how something currently works helps combat this and makes it easier to start jamming.
if we never tell anyone about our things, they will forever be empty. people dont discover through magic.
