Recording
Recording, what is it? I don't care. But is it good? I don't know. It depends. Is watching a recording as good as experiencing it yourself? Probably not. Is it as good as someone telling you about their own experience with it? Probably also not. Can it help in jurisdictive situations? Maybe. Should everything be recorded? I'm not sure. I don't think so.
But then something happened. We don't care what recording is, but we know that it's ...memory
Memory can be very powerful. It can give access to people who weren't there.
It can give a reminder to someone of something that happened before. And they can come to it under a new light, or it can give them an old light.
When something is powerful it requires care. Care is the most important and abundant work in the world. Without care we would be finished in seconds.
Some things require extra care. So their power doesn't overwhelm or lead to distortions, or the distortions are not feared, or the overwhelm is embraced comfortably.
So, yes - we don't know if recording is good. It's probably not as good as experiencing it yourself (if you are lucky enough to), you should always listen to others, carefully, directly.
Should everything be recorded? Absolutely not. Is this blog a record of pastagang?s thoughts? Yes.
So maybe we should hold two thoughts -
record as much as you can
don't worry about recordings, as much as you can
💖
what do YOU think?
to add your thoughts, login as pastagang, click the pencil icon, and start typing. Then press the 'commit' button.
it would be nice to hear from you
And so... recording is how you can spread the pasta. Plant a seed. Let new people grow.
you are a single synapse in a larger brain known as a "scenius". the brain only works if its different synapses talk to each other. its nerve cells must re-transmit what they know and what they have experienced to other nerve cells. otherwise the combined scenius stops working and it'll return to lots of pathetic little individuals known as "humans". in London we ask people to share everything, including their "unstructured thoughts", which has become a tradition after events. we even added an "unstructured thoughts" section to our discord , but they're mostly shared on mastodon. we just do our organisation on the discord. mastodon is only full of nerds so it would be bad to do it only there
anyway, a recording in Ljubljana can make people in London learn something, and their recording can help the people in Karlsruhe learn something. and their recording helps the people in Linz learn something. and their recording helps the people in Ljubljana learn something. the internet can be good for fuks sake!
