Ravioli has been popping off with hardpasta activity both in contributors and users which has been very nice to see as the kind of "current stop" of post-nudel pastagangery.
As an anonymous member of the community, my current takeaways from this situation are:
1 Anonimity is good! Dente had this going for it but ravioli, through still having a cursor but not having real space to chat "permanently", gives a very different vibe.
2 Space limitation + rooms is a very nice combination. We're seeing a lot more deletion and creativity. Now that the controls have adapted to make the 2D plane easier to navigate as well. Rooms allow busy moments to split off, feeling like a house party that has a kitchen hangout.
3 Creativity in code. Ravioli is "new blood". It's easy to get in the repo and add stuff and change stuff. Nudel was also like that, but over time people got attached to it and scared to change things. Let code die, let code live, whatever you want to call it; this is a lot more JAM ORIENTED!
4 Ravioli has made it much easier to contribute!! even if you dont know how to strudel or basil or render rule you can make ascii art!!! its actually indredible how much this lowered the barrier of entry to join in on the jam. like anything these also change the course of the jam just like hyrda did for nudel and dente
5.Performance needs work. So so many good concepts, but on my browser, at least, if I stay very long in a room, it starts to absolutely fry my computer.FEEL FREE TO ADD MORE STUFF TO THIS "LIST"
