there needs to be some sort of term for open creative communities like pastagang that isnt just the name pastagang. maybe i will refer to it as a creative community for now. creative communities are kind of hard to start because most people are used to making nothing, or want to make it by themselves instead of collaboratively, at least thats what it seems like to me. to get a creative community to be somewhat like pastagang you need the right conditions, but i dont know what those are. i have kind of tried, at least a bit, to get more people to either join pastagang or make something similar, but it seems there is a widespread brainrot that creation and agency are extremely hard to reach and thus most people end up waiting for others to create instead of creating themselves.
i almost fell into this trap as well. when pastagang's codeberg page died, i was discussing how the next one could be made, but then i realized i should make it myself and then i did and it was good and excellently bad too.
it is incredibly hard to encourage creation. nudel kind of succeeded by integrating the creation and consumption experience into the same space without any barriers. to consume you must look at the code and you must be in the editor. one keypress away from creation.
it turns out this is harder with websites.
glitch.me succeeded, somewhat, but it didnt allow open collaboration and it is also dead now. it was killed when fastly took it over.
